The Polish Gazette dated 25 March 2016 notified the insurance market that the Insurance Ombudsman Contribution due from foreign insurers increased from 0.0125% to 0.0150% of total gross written premium. For Polish insurance companies the rate has been set at 0.0138%.  The new rates took effect from 01 April 2016.

For a freedom of services insurer writing taxable premiums in Poland of EUR1m, this will equate to an increased tax burden of EUR25.

The same announcement detailed a move to quarterly filings. FiscalReps is in dialogue with the Polish Ombudsman to obtain clarification on further changes.
