A country-wide coffee morning has provided a golden opportunity for Farnborough-based FiscalReps to raise essential funds towards the provision of practical, medical and financial support for people with cancer.

The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan Cancer Support’s biggest fundraising event, raising £10 million in 2011. This year’s coffee morning took place across the UK and further afield on Friday 28 September.

Mike Stalley, Founder and Chief Executive of tax compliance consultancy FiscalReps, is delighted that all of FiscalReps’ employees decided to boost last year’s record number of 51,000 participants and to get involved in the fundraising event.

Stalley says: “The entire company wanted to raise money for this worthy cause, either by buying cakes or baking them themselves for the event. It was also a great opportunity to invite and mingle with our neighbours at our new offices at 200 Fowler Avenue, where we have been based since this summer."

He says: “This year, we raised a fantastic £224.77 which FiscalReps doubled to £449.54 for Macmillan Cancer Support, not only through small donations to purchase cakes and muffins, but also thanks to individual donations that people made to Macmillan on the day. We are very pleased
to be able to help support a UK charity in its aim of improving cancer care.”

In addition to raising money by selling cakes, staff and colleagues from neighbouring businesses at Farnborough Business Park had the opportunity to raise funds by buying rose pin badges and ‘The Little Book of Treats’.
