On the 26th and 27th September Captive Review held a new event for the US captive insurance market, Captive Live USA. The conference aimed to bring together risk managers, captive owners and managers from across the United States. Over two days there were seminars and panel discussions from industry experts and captive owners discussing the key issues affecting US captives in 2011 and looking toward the future. The two day event gave FiscalReps a great opportunity to meet with industry peers from across the Atlantic and to discuss key US premium tax compliance issues.

Day two of the conference was predominantly focussed on regulation and compliance. Mike Stalley, Founder of FiscalReps, spoke after lunch about 'Transfer Pricing and Insurance Premium Tax' which was well received and certainly gave the attendees some food for thought!

Mike also moderated a panel session entitled "Compliance for Multinational Corporations". Mike was joined by Diana Chafey, Partner at DLA Piper, and Tomas Wittbjer, Global Head of Insurance for Ikano SA and Board Member at CICA, the panel session was well attended and raised some interesting compliance issues.

After 2 days of sessions, discussions and networking FiscalReps came away with a clear understanding of the key compliance issues that the US captive market are currently facing and a strong foundation for future offerings to enable our new contacts ensure their own premium tax compliance.

We look forward to attending this event again in the future and foresee it becoming a key date in the industry calendar!
